Tatreez is a folk-art over 4000 years old, practiced traditionally by Palestinian women. Tatreez is almost a language, telling stories of the embroiderer's life, lessons or perils. Motifs differe from region to region in Palestine. and colours also vary depending on the plants available in the region. In 2021. tatreez was added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
One Stitch Solution is a Palestinian-run initiative, with the aim to revive tatreez in the diaspora in Whadjuk Noonga Boodja (south west, Western Australia).
With workshops, circles and events from north to south, these workshops allow Palestinian and non-Palestinian participants to learn tatreez and its incredible stories.
