Palestine Australia Relief & Action or PARA, is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.
Founded and led by Australian Palestinians, it provides support for Palestinians while they are in Australia, helping them to achieve their full potential, free from the barriers created by conflict and displacement.
All One Stitch Solution workshops have a sizeable portion of either ticket sales or grant funds donated to PARA. This allows for a double impact strategy - communities are able to connect and learn about the Palestinian heritage, while directly improving the lives of Palestinians.
Donation strategies have varied depending on method of funding. Some workshops have had a 100% donation policy for instance.
Feel free to get in touch regarding donation enquiries.
Tatreez is a Palestinian folk-art, and non-Palestinians are absolutely welcome to learn and practice tatreez. If you are not Palestinian however:
Having said this, you are absolutely welcome to share your tatreez pieces and educate others about what you have learnt!
The cost of attending One Stitch Solution varies depending on the workshop. Please check the individual workshop pages for pricing information.
The duration of each One Stitch Solution workshop varies depending on the specific workshop. Please check the individual workshop pages for duration information. As a guide however, all workshops include a tatreez 101 component and a practical component, so you're receiving a holistic understanding of tatreez.
If workshops feature a series, please ensure you are able to attend all classes prior to booking.
All workshops are designed to be as accessible as possible, which includes ensuring wheelchair access, providing food that meets all dietary and allergen requirements, bathroom access, and tatreez material accommodations. This includes keeping prices low, especially during a cost of living crisis. Tatreez is an art form traditionally practiced by general society in Palestine, and is free of social or economic status constraints. This is reflected in the pricing.
Please disclose if you have any accessibility requirements you would like accommodated however.
